Sound Designer & Editor / Composer

This section includes videos of edited or published audio from some of my projects.

Creatures

released October 26, 2021

Nothing’s gonna outlive our dreams is the only ambient composition from the avant-garde solo guitar project Creatures. A weird and experimental album that ends with this melancholic and dreamlike tune.

The video is an excerpt from “Meditation on violence” a 1948 American 16mm black and white experimental short film directed by Maya Deren. It explores in playing out the movements and performance of the Wu-tang ritual. It also obscures the distinction between violence and beauty. The film stars Chao-Li Chi.

Songs the wolf...

released December 10, 2020

Songs the wolf… is a collection of stories and reflections about human nature and society. This is my first non-instrumental album.

The opening track King is in memory of Willy Monteiro Duarte. It’s my reaction to the brutal murder of this 20 years old man.

Buddy’s Revenge was inspired by George Floyd’s murder. My story is not only about racism, it’s meant to be a sort of revenge for all the victims of Police brutality. Buddy pays tribute to George Floyd, Federico Aldrovandi and all the other tragic stories around the globe.

Syria: songs for the children

released June 19, 2021

A couple of tunes from this solo ukulele album. Carillon and Realm of fantasy.

The project was conceived with my hearts and thoughts to the million of children born into war in Syria, to their families and trauma.

Ventofermo

released May 16, 2020

Ventofermo is a portmantau, vento (wind) and fermo (still, motionless) combined together. This music was conceived at the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown.

It’s meant to be a journey through personal reflections, memories, dreams and expectations.

Here one of my favourite composition Via Balzac and the title track Ventofermo.

LooPortrait: improvisations

released January 29, 2020

LOOPortrait is a series of guitar improvisations live looped with several pedals. There’s no premeditation, things just happen. No overdubbing. These tracks are meant to be a sort of live painting in a sonic environment: soundscapes portraits. It’s a freaky, oneiric project.

While I Was Out

released September 19, 2019

While I Was Out is an improvised album for no-input mixer and guitar. A sort of out-of-body experience where the performer keeps the distance from the performance itself, projecting the matter in a dreamlike dimension where randomness seems to trace the path for the listener to give the audio material a shape, a meaning.

Miscellaneous

Montreal was written for the Purppll Sample Pack Megamix contest by Montreal Assembly.

Weed (songs from the quarantine days) is a funny song that came out during the qurantine days. I know there’s nothing funny about the health situation and the coronavirus alert, this is supposed to be just a story.
